About SLS
What is Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)?
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a 3D printing process used in producing parts for end-use, low volume production, and rapid prototyping. Products that are manufactured using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) are highly accurate and durable.
SLS utilizes the additive manufacturing process which fuses small particles of metal, plastic, ceramic or glass powders into a 3D object. SLS technology relies on high power lasers such as a carbon dioxide laser to selectively fuse the powdered material and create the 3D object.
3dPrintShop.io produces Selective Laser Sintering projects in as little as three days.

Primary Uses
When to use Selective Laser Sintering?
Concept Models
The speed, accuracy, and versatility of SLS make it perfect for creating 3D models of new products.
Direct Manufacturing
Parts created using SLS are highly accurate, which make SLS an excellent choice for manufacturing large quantities of customized objects.
Rapid Prototyping
SLS is capable of producing fully functioning prototypes. If you require all-in-one assemblies or moving parts, SLS can accurately bring your design to life.

Materials & Finishes
Materials & Finishes
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Materials
Available materials used in Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) printing includes plastics, glass-filled nylon, nylon.
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Finishes
Standard – parts are de-powdered using a manual process which includes sandblasting. The standard finish leaves parts with a feel that is similar to a sugar cube
Media Tumbled – After de-powdering, parts are media tumbled. This process reduces sharp edges and grow lines. The parts will have an eggshell finish.
Additional Options – sanding, painting, dyeing, and plating. Please contact our 3D specialists to discuss these finishing options. Call today (281) 335-3968.
